We had friends for dinner the past weekend, and we fancied doing something a little different. As regulars in our house they know we love to theme the night – from Italian, Indian & Polka Dot nights – we’ve had a go at most. This weekend we decided to celebrate with some Hollywood themed items.
There were only 8 of us so the standard dining table worked with the Hollywood tablecover, we liked this one as the stripes were stylish and made the table look wider somehow. We added a plain red table runner down the centre, and used the paper plates just for the starter – bone china worked better for the main course! We added Hollywood confetti to the table and we loved the Popcorn bags – we hid a fun little gift in each for our dinner guests. We moved the table so it was against a wall and then we could use the Hollywood Scene Setterwith some balloons as a backdrop – it gave a focal point as our guests entered the room – it was great fun.
We served James Martin Nut Butter Scallops for starter and then we then used Jamie Oliver recipe ‘the ultimate steak with vinegar roasties‘ for our main course. The weather was beautiful this weekend so we lit the BBQ and enjoyed coffee under the stars whilst this delicious dessert cooked on the embers. BBQ Bananas with rum & caramel, so easy and a lovely finish to the dinner.
We stayed in the garden to quite some time, wrapping up in the throws from the sofas, sipping wine and grabbing a little heat form the dying embers, and we took a few selfies with our besties. What a great night.
